Valley Cruisers Ron and Dena Weise, of Springfield, brought this 1957 Ford Thunderbird to the Oakland Car Show and Shine last year.
Don Guentner of Elkton brought the Oakland Car Show WINNER, a 1937 Ford Stepside Pick-up.
Ron Monroe of Scottburg entered this beauty, a 1936 Ford Club Cabridet painted bambolina blue.
Dick Thornley's 1960 Chevrolet Impala drew a lot of attention on the streets of Oakland.
Brian Whitaker's 1969 Chevrolet Camaro represented the 1960's with distinction, displaying its powerful motor.
2007 Show
The Grand Prize Winner -- Pat Glass from Myrtle Creek, OR blew the competition away with his "Candy Brandy" painted 1957 Ford Thunderbird.
Lots of Heavy Metal and bragging rights were available at the Oakland Car Show & Shine, with trophies for 1st through 3rd in five different classes.
There were separate classes for 1950's and 1960's-70's for this year's show, and we brought out the choppers" this year, being one of the few Car Shows in Oregon with a Motorcycle class.
Roger Zimmerman of Oakland brought out an old time favorite with this 1966 Mustang sizzler.

Dean & Geneva Croft of Roseburg got noticed with their paint job on this "jet green" 1964 Chevy sedan.
Jim Shipley of Roseburg went with Henry Ford's favorite color for his 1923 "basic black" Model T.
Mark Mosley's souped up "viper red" 1965 Ford Mustang dazzled the crowd with its vibrant color.
A real "crowd pleaser" was this 1973 Cadillac Hearse, complete with "trailer," from Paul Rankin of Roseburg.

John Mills of Oakland got some old timers together to match old town Oakland with his 1924 Silver Model T.

Todd Woodward of Oakland showed off some engine chrome on his "Hot Rod" 1936 Pontiac Coupe's black and purple lines.
Roseburg's Norm Neal brought a showstopper 1939 Ford Sedan painted in "creamy tan."
This 1939 Ford Sedan painted in "cabriolet blue" was Gordon Boyd of Roseburg's pride and joy.

Not your mother's Model T! This 1926 Model T has had some "Modifications" and caused a stir at the Oakland Car Show.
2008 Show
The 2008 Oakland Car Show and Shine began with a cold morning, but soon the sun was out and gleaming off the shiny surfaces of highly polished vehicles. One of the show favorites was Wes Melo’s antique firetruck. This truck made a return visit to Oakland to carry the Grand Marshal of the 4th of July Parade. Pickups were also popular with the crowds.
2009 Show
The 6th Annual Car Show and Shine in Historic Oakland was held on May 9, 2009.
Six Classes of vehicles were registered for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes:
Antique Class 1920 - 1941, 50’s Class 1946 - 1959, 60’s Class 1960 - 1969, 70’s Class 1970 - 1979, Open Motorcycle All Years, and Open Truck All Years.
Over 100 vehicles and many more people enjoyed a day of vintage vehicles, fun, food and excellent entertainment.
